New Zealand Breakers coach Mody Maor has conceded he is “very worried” about the wrist injury sustained by NBL Next Star Rayan Rupert.

Rupert slipped and suffered a suspected broken wrist in Sunday’s loss to the Sydney Kings.

Speaking after the game, Maor couldn’t give a timeline on Rupert’s recovery but he said the concern levels are high.

"I don't know, I'm very worried. Fingers crossed everything is okay, he's on his way to get an x-ray," Maor said via ESPN.

"He landed poorly on his wrist; I hope it's nothing too bad. He's the best of kids, he deserves nothing bad to happen to him. Let's all just hope it's nothing serious."

Rupert is a projected first round pick in next year’s NBA Draft. His draft stock has risen since joining the NBL, having played well on both ends of the floor for the Breakers.
