Adel Out of Hawks Clash with Taipans

The Hawks star Deng Adel will miss Monday night’s game against the Cairns Taipans due to right quad tightness.

Adel played limited minutes in last Saturday’s win over the Brisbane Bullets. The 23-year-old played just 11 minutes in the game, scoring two points.

With a quick two-day turnaround between games, Adel will sit out against the Taipans. Coach Brian Goorjian spoke about Adel’s condition after the win in Brisbane.

"He's had a bit of a quad issue and we knew we were going to play him in short blocks, sub him in and out, then at halftime he said it was really tight," Goorjian said.

"There's been no further damage but it does need rest.”

Adel was battling the calf issue throughout the preseason.
