Adelaide 36ers coach CJ Bruton has revealed the club is “open to everything” when looking to replace released import Craig Randall II.
Bruton iterated he and the team are dedicated to find “chemistry” when searching for free agents.
“Clearly we need a guard, but I’m open to everything,” Bruton said on finding a replacement import.
“It’s about finding that balance of letting the team continue to grow and develop, and make sure the chemistry is the right fit for us.
“ ... continue to develop chemistry and continuity and understanding of who we are as individual players and how we come together and become a better team.
“We need to continue to get better and focus on the team. Moving forward, it’s business as usual, keep coming in and keep grinding away and get better at little things.”

While many would have welcomed the FIBA Break after a brutal grind for the past two months, Bruton said provided a significant challenge for the 36ers.
“It’s been disruptive if I’m being honest, clearly we’ve got three guys that were away for the FIBA window a long with a coach and manager as well,” Bruton said.
“We got on the floor (yesterday) for the first time (as a whole team), so having all that time off ... not ideal.”
But there were positives to come from the situation.
“It’s great to have some time to continue to build with the group that we had here and work together to improve on some of the things that we need to get better at,” Bruton said.
Bruton spoke highly of three players that represented their countries, Mitch McCarron (Australia), Hyrum Harris (New Zealand) and Kai Sotto (Philippines).
“They’re true pros that play for their country, they understand it, they enjoy it. Everyone knows that it’s a moment in time that we get to do that, and right now it’s making the most of the opportunity but also knowing what’s at stake as we keep moving forward,” he said.
The 36ers are sitting at 3-4, having a slow start to the season leading into Thursday night’s game against Melbourne United.
