Adelaide CEO Nic Barbato has fired back at Sydney Kings co-owner Andrew Bogut, who recently turned the spotlight on the 36ers for a perceived player cash splash.
Bogut told Newscorp Adelaide is “the highest spenders by far” after the recent signing of Ian Clark.
Those comments come after Kings' owner Paul Smith called the 36ers "the Golden State Warriors" after they beat the Phoenix Suns in the NBA preseason.
“For some reason, they love to talk about us a bit. I’m not sure of their fascination about us but we’re not privy to what other clubs spend and nor do we ever want to speculate,” Barbato told Newscorp.

Barbato conceded the 36ers are spending more than last season, but club revenue had doubled.
“We’ve rejigged a whole lot of the basketball spend and (it) is less than 10 per cent higher than what it was last year,” he said.
The Sixers are 9-8 heading into tonight’s clash with the Brisbane Bullets.
