Perth Wildcats forward and NBL Rookie of the Year finalist Luke Travers is declaring for the 2022 NBA Draft according to ESPN's Kane Pitman.

In his first year as a contracted player, Travers was a standout for the Wildcats averaging 7.8 points and 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game including a season-high of 24 points against South East Melbourne in February.

The versatile forward was often called upon to guard Perth's toughest opponents, as well as being asked to handle the ball more as the Wildcats were struck by injuries to the likes of Mitch Norton.

Travers turned heads in NBL21 with his post-season play for Perth, setting him up for a promising season with a bigger role in NBL22.

While he currently isn't listed on ESPN's most recent Mock Draft, Travers sits at #89 in Jonathan Givony's list of the Top 100 prospects.

Pitman's reporting indicates that Travers will head to the U.S in the coming weeks to prepare for the Draft.

Travers joins New Zealand Breakers duo Ousmane Dieng and Hugo Besson as NBL players who have declared for the 2022 NBA Draft.
