REPORT: Big to return to Phoenix?

Gorjok Gak will reportedly sign with the South East Melbourne Phoenix in NBL26, according to ESPN's Olgun Uluc. 

Gak previously played for the Phoenix in NBL24, before being picked up by the Tasmania JackJumpers in NBL25.

 The 28-year-old big man averaged 4.5 points and 2.6 rebounds last season, but arguably had his best and most impactful season with the Phoenix in 2024-2025, where he averaged 5.4 points and 4.9 rebounds. 

If Gak joins the Phoenix, he will reunite with marquee player Nathan Sobey. The pair last played together at the Brisbane Bullets in NBL23. 

Gak would reportedly be the second local signing this week for Josh King, with Uluc also earlier reporting DJ Mitchell is returning to the NBL
