The 27-year-old continues his inspiring comeback from life-threatening injuries suffered during an unprovoked assault in 2023.
Harry Froling is one step closer to an NBL return, signing with the NBL1’s Melbourne Tigers for the remainder of the season.
The 27-year-old continues his inspiring comeback from life-threatening injuries suffered during an unprovoked assault in 2023.
Froling made his return to basketball with the Taranaki Airs in the NZNBL in March, averaging 19.9 points and 8.8 rebounds 10 games.
Speaking to NBL Media in April, the former Brisbane Bullets, Illawarra Hawks, Adelaide 36ers and Townsville Crocs' big man said he still harboured ambitions of playing in the league again.
“I love playing and I love hooping,” he said.
“You’re pretty quickly forgotten. But with the potential I have now, and the mindset I have, and how I look after myself, the sky’s the limit.”
Froling will play under all-time great Andrew Gaze at the Tigers.
“I’m excited to play for the historic club in the Melbourne Tigers, and team up with one of my best mates again in Tom Wilson,” he said.
The Tigers will take on the Casey Cavaliers on Saturday night from 7:30pm AEST. Watch the game live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
