Nine NBL24 representatives have been selected for Australia's upcoming FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers against South Korea and Indonesia.

There will be a distinct NBL flavour in Australia’s upcoming FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers against Korea and Indonesia, with nine of the team’s 12 representatives plying their trade in the nation’s domestic competition this season.

Brian Goorjian will lead the side in what is the final batch of Boomers games before preparation begins for the Olympic games.

DJ Vasiljevic expressed his desire to make waves in the Boomers setup upon his return to the NBL with Adelaide and has been included in the squad, and will once again play alongside two-time NBL champion Jordan Hunter, who has received his maiden call-up to the Boomers’ senior side.

Next Star Rocco Zikarsky will lead a talented crop of emerging NBL stars in camp, and has been named alongside fellow NBL rookies Taran Armstrong, Ben Henshall and Josh Bannan.

Recent Boomers captain Mitch McCarron has retained his place on Goorjian’s roster, while Adelaide development player Nick Marshall has also been named.

Two-time Olympic representative and Shimane Susanoo Magic forward Nick Kay is the only player selected who is not playing domestically in Australia this season, while Centre of Excellence representatives Kye Savage and Josh Dent have also been selected.

Melbourne’s Jacob Chance, Cairns’ Kerry Williams and the Centre of Excellence’s Robert McKinlay will support Goorjian in assistant coach roles.

The Boomers will face South Korea in Bendigo on Thursday, February 22 at 6:30pm AEDT before they play Indonesia in Jakarta on Monday, February 26 at 12am AEDT.
