“It’s important for us to have our games widely accessible, especially for the next generation of fans."

All Breakers games in the upcoming Hungry Jack’s NBL season will be available on both ESPN and TVNZ platforms for New Zealand Breakers fans to enjoy.

New Zealand viewers can catch every game of the Hungry Jack’s NBL season on ESPN.

Additionally, TVNZ will be the free-to-air home of the Breakers and will feature their regular season games on a combination of TVNZ+, where fans can watch all games live, and TVNZ channels.

“This year is already shaping as one of the most exciting and unpredictable in recent history, and for the Breakers, with a new coach and many new faces on their roster, we anticipate there’ll be a lot of interest in their season,” NBL Chief Strategic Partnerships and Investment Officer, Brad Joyner, said.

Breakers CEO, Lisa Edser, said she was excited about Breakers basketball being widely accessible to all Kiwi fans.

“We are thrilled for TVNZ to bring our games live and free to fans all over New Zealand. Our supporters are the heartbeat of our club, and this partnership will allow more of them to engage with the team than ever before,” Edser said.

“Basketball is a sport that brings people together and it’s important for us to have our games widely accessible, especially for the next generation of fans. We want to build a legacy that goes beyond the court and into communities across New Zealand.”

“The BNZ Breakers have a wide and passionate fan base across Aotearoa, and we’re delighted to be bringing all of their on-court action this season to Kiwi viewers live and free," TVNZ CEO Jodi O’Donnell said.

“With almost 15.4 million streams on the TVNZ+ sports hub in its first year, it’s clear that there’s a massive appetite for live and free sport in New Zealand. When you combine our digital audience with the unmatched reach of TVNZ’s broadcast channels, this new partnership will give more Kiwis the opportunity to be inspired by some of the most exciting and talented basketball players in the country.”

“ESPN is excited to bring the 2024/25 season of NBL and Breakers action to New Zealand basketball fans. For the first time, all NBL games will be on ESPN in New Zealand and available through Sky Box, Sky Pod, Sky Go and Sky Sport Now,” Senior Vice President and Managing Director of The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand and Head of ESPN for Asia Pacific, Kylie Watson-Wheeler, said.

The 2024/25 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season begins in Perth with the inaugural HoopsFest from September 19-22. The season opener will be a Championship Series re-match between Melbourne United and the Tasmania JackJumpers at 8:30pm AEST at RAC Arena on Thursday, September 19.

The New Zealand Breakers’ first game of NBL25 tips-off on Saturday, September 21 against the Brisbane Bullets. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN and TVNZ+.
