Adelaide star Mitch McCarron has reaffirmed his commitment to the 36ers, dismissing rumours he's eyeing a move to a rival club.

The 30-year-old has been an integral member on the 36ers' roster across the past two seasons, and says he has every intention of playing in South Australia in NBL24.

“I was contracted, I signed a three-year deal and I planned on staying,” McCarron told the club's website

“My family loves Adelaide. Obviously, I’d love to have some better results moving forward and I’d love to be part of that.”

McCarron averaged 7.8 points, 3.8 assists and five rebounds across this season, shooting at a career-high 49 per cent from the field.

“There was a lot of talk going around of people on the move and what the clubs were doing, but that didn’t come from me, I’m locked in here,” he said.

The 36ers had a disappointing NBL23 campaign, finishing in eighth place after promising so much in the pre-season. But McCarron is confident they can turn things around quickly with a new-look roster.

“A strong core is important to building a winning culture, but it’s pretty rare for an exact team to come back year-on-year,” he added.

“We will wait and see who is on the free agent list when that comes out.”

NBL Free Agency officially gets underway on Thursday, March 30, with McCarron committed to Adelaide alongside Sunday Dech, Nick Marshall, Antonius Cleveland, Robert Franks and Kyrin Galloway.
