Will Magnay made his long-awaited Summer League debut on Wednesday.

Las Vegas got its first glimpse of Will Magnay on Wednesday, Australian time, as the Tasmania JackJumpers standout made his long-awaited Summer League debut.

Tipped by many as a strong NBA roster contender with the Memphis Grizzlies, the NBL24 Champion lined up opposite Golden State Warrior and former Sydney King Alex Toohey.

Magnay made an immediate impression, tallying 6 points, 6 rebounds, a steal and a block in just 14 minutes as he returned from a wrist injury.

“The concern for the JackJumpers, it is real. The Grizzlies really do like him, and if he can get on the court and show what we know he is capable of, he might stay over here,” Pete Hooley said on NBL Now earlier this week.

Elsewhere, it was a showcase for the Next Stars alumni, with Rayan Rupert lighting it up for Portland and AJ Johnson making his mark for Washington.

Rupert poured in 24 points, adding 3 rebounds and 2 steals, while Johnson impressed again with 20 points and 5 boards in a standout performance.
