Australian talent and former Illawarra Hawks champion has signed a new deal with Tokyo Alvark in Japan’s B.League.

Reportedly set to be one of the highest-paid imports in the League, the talented big man makes the move after a season in the NBA with the Chicago Bulls.

Olbrich had been working out with his former Hawks team during pre-season training, and will now take his talents to Japan.

The 22-year-old hopes a big season will help propel him back into the NBA.

"I think the biggest thing for me is continuing to show my shooting ability and proving I can do it consistently at a high level," Olbrich told ESPN.

"I know I've got the capability so now it's about getting out to Tokyo and showing it every night, to prove I can be a consistent threat from the three."
