Game Report: Australian Boomers v France

Monday, July 22, 2024
The Australian Boomers have won their final Olympics warm-up game in style.
A Dyson Daniels last second game-winner has given the Australian Boomers the perfect finish to their Olympic preparations, defeating France 83-82.
Daniels' reverse lay-up led the Boomers to their third straight win, after victories over Puerto Rico and Serbia in the past week, as well as an encouraging performance against Team USA.

Patty Mills was again Australia's leading scorer, with 24 on the night, while Josh Giddey continued his strong run of form, with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Daniels finished with 14 points.
NBL star Will Magnay was influential, finishing with 10 points in 16 minutes of action.
The Boomers trailed by six points at half-time, but rallied in the third quarter, outscoring France 19-13, before an exciting finish in enemy territory.
On a sour note, there are serious concerns for Boomers guard Dante Exum, who left the game in the second quarter with a finger injury.
Coach Brian Goorjian said it was dislocated and scans would reveal the full extent of the damage, with a last-minute replacement not out of the question.
"It's a concern, that's all I know," Goorjian said post-game.
Victor Wembanyama played a dominant role for France, with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists, but the Australians took the ultimate honours leading into Paris.
The Boomers' Olympic tournament tips off on July 27 against Spain.
