Franks Exit Solves Adelaide Import Dilemma

Tuesday, July 18, 2023
Import forward Robert Franks has been released from his Adelaide 36ers contract, freeing up space for CJ Bruton to pursue a two-way guard.
Adelaide will continue its search for an import two-way guard, after the departure of Robert Franks freed up vital space on its roster.
The forward signed on with the side after a strong NBL22 season with Brisbane, but reportedly attempted to exercise his European out-clause prior to the start of NBL23.
Following the recent acquisition of Jacob Wiley in the power-forward position, there were concerns overseas deals had fallen through for Franks, but his move allows much needed flexibility for coach CJ Bruton and his team.

So, it won’t necessarily be a point guard; the desire is someone who can handle it, initiate offence, close games.</p>— Olgun Uluc (@OlgunUluc) <a href="https://twitter.com/OlgunUluc/status/1680811074634022913?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 17, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
It has been reported by ESPN that Franks has signed a deal with the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins in Japan.
Franks was one of Adelaide’s star performers in the club’s stunning pre-season win over NBA side Phoenix, where he registered an incredible 32 points and seven rebounds in the famous victory, before going on to average 17.7 points and 6.5 rebounds per game this past season.
