Duop Reath has landed a two-way contract with the Phoenix Suns, on a mixed day of news for Australians in the NBA.

Former Sydney Kings Next Star Alex Toohey has been waived by the Golden State Warriors for a second time, while, as reported earlier on Monday, Ben Simmons has suffered a serious Achilles injury.

Phoenix converted Reath’s Exhibit 10 training-camp deal, meaning he can play a maximum of 50 games for the Suns.

The former Illawarra Hawk and Boomers big man spent his last three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Toohey was cut on Sunday (AEDT) alongside Tyler Burton and Dalen Terry, after rejoining Golden State for Summer League in July and appearing in four pre-season games on an Exhibit 10 deal.

The former No. 52 pick was first waived in December after a season-ending knee injury, and could yet link up with the Santa Cruz Warriors for the 2026-27 G League season.
