"I just think it’s because I’ve got an Adelaide 36ers jersey on."

Adelaide import Kendric Davis has doubled-down on his defence of himself and the 36ers.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Olgun Uluc posted on X targeting Davis' impact in the NBL, with the talented point guard now responding via two different forums.

Uluc posted: “Is the way Kendric Davis plays (on both ends) conducive to winning in the NBL?”

Davis responded: “I'm go' make sure we revisit this tweet in a few months.”

“If I’m being honest, I just think it’s because I’ve got an Adelaide 36ers jersey on, really,” Davis further iterated in a press conference on Tuesday.

“I think they just doing it for clickbait.

“If I was with Sydney or Illawarra, I think they’d give me a pass — ‘It’s two games, like they’re adjusting’ but, because I’ve got Adelaide on ... and we know the past history, I think any time they can try to stir up drama here, they will.”

The 36ers had an eventful off-season with the departure of coach Scott Ninnis, just months after CJ Bruton was sacked from the main role. Mike Wells has since been appointed in the head coaching role.

They've been active on the recruiting front, bringing in the likes of Jarell Martin, Lat Mayen, and Davis and more recently, NBA star Montrezl Harrell as an injury replacement player - but so far, are winless to start the season.

“It ain’t been the best here, It ain’t no secret, everybody know that,” Davis continued.

“So when there’s drama here, you’ve got people that want clickbait to get more drama, because you won’t get that in Sydney.”

Davis and the 36ers will be desperate to claim their first victory against the South East Melbourne Phoenix on Thursday night, at a near sell-out Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

The game tips off at 7:30pm AEST, and will be broadcast live on ESPN via Kayo.
