Tuesday, October 24, 2023
Duop Reath has re-signed with the Trail Blazers on a two-way deal, according to NBA newsbreaker Adrian Wojnarowski.
Former Illawarra Hawk Duop Reath’s NBA journey will reportedly continue, despite being waived by Portland yesterday.
The Australian big has re-signed with the Trail Blazers on a two-way deal, according to NBA newsbreaker Adrian Wojnarowski.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">The Portland Trail Blazers are signing center Duop Reath to a two-way contract, sources tell ESPN.</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) <a href="https://twitter.com/wojespn/status/1716566584292995394?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 23, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
The two-way deal will enable Reath to split his time between the Trail Blazers NBA side and their new G-League affiliate, the Rip City Remix.
Jack White was on a similar deal with the Denver Nuggets last season.
Reath starred for the Blazers’ Summer League side in July, before he travelled to the FIBA World Cup, where injury to Houston Rocket and former Melbourne center Jock Landale saw him start for Australia.
Reath’s re-signing to the Trail Blazers organisation comes with the news of former NBL MVP Xavier Cooks' departure from the Washington Wizards.
