Brisbane guard Isaac White continued his incredible scoring run in NBL1 North over the weekend and pulled together two 30-point performances for Mackay in Round 14.

He registered a 37-point, 12-rebound, 11-assist triple-double in the Meteors’ 20-point victory over Sunshine Coast, and gave himself a chance to register a rare quadruple-double, but fell short of that incredible milestone by five steals.

White then scored 30 points and added eight rebounds in Mackay’s second game of the round, but it wasn’t enough to see of Kouat Noi and USC Rip City. Noi finished the game with 22 points and 11 wins.

Sydney’s Makuach Maluach had to contend with a triple-header in NBL1 North with his Darwin Salties, and was within touching distance of registering a trio of double-doubles.

Maluach added 22 points and 10 rebounds in his side’s victory over Red City, and followed it up with 27 points and 10 rebounds in a nail-biting one-point loss to Ipswich.

Nathan Sobey had 32 points and nine rebounds for the Force in that clash, while Illawarra’s Deng Deng finished the game with 30 points of his own, while Maluach’s teammate Sean Macdonald added 26 points.

The Salties then fell to Logan in their final game of the weekend. Tasmania’s newest addition – Majok Deng – starred in the win for the Thunder with 28 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks.

Melbourne United development player Campbell Blogg took on more of the scoring load for Sandringham in the absence of Ben Ayre.

He added 28 points in the Sabres’ opening win over the Nunawading Spectres, before scoring 23 in their loss to Hobart.

Brisbane’s Sam McDaniel played a starring role in the Chargers’ win over Sandringham with a 27-point, 11 rebounds double-double.

Illawarra’s Will Hickey put together the strongest scoring performance of the week for any NBL-rostered player with his 38 points against the Bruins in NBL1 East, before adding another 24 points and 13 rebounds against Penrith.

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Davo Hickey is a MENACE in the paint ?<br><br>Illawarra&#39;s star guard went OFF with:<br><br>3??8?? points<br>8?? rebounds<br>5?? assists<br>4?? steals<br><br>Watch <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/NBL1East?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#NBL1East</a> via <a href="https://t.co/NEk1I7kIKG">https://t.co/NEk1I7kIKG</a> or the NBL1 App ? &amp; ? <a href="https://t.co/DwEdwMvX6P">pic.twitter.com/DwEdwMvX6P</a></p>&mdash; NBL1 (@NBL1) <a href="https://twitter.com/NBL1/status/1675132145462038529?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">July 1, 2023</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

David Okwera continued to get acclimated to NBL1 West with the Perth Redbacks following his foray into the NBA Draft and had seven points against the Warwick Senators, while Gorjok Gak and the Willeton Tigers fought admirably against Perry Lakes, but fell by just one point.

Mitch McCarron and Lachlan Olbrich continued their dominance in NBL1 Central for the West Adelaide Bearcats.

McCarron had 21 points and eight rebounds in a narrow victory over Forestville, while Olbrich scored a game-high 24 points. Melbourne development player Malith Machar finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Eagles.

South Adelaide continued its imperious season largely, once again, to the efforts of star forward Alex Starling.

Starling had 23 points, 17 rebounds and six steals for the Panthers in their two-point victory over North Adelaide.
