Mitsubishi Motors Australia has returned to the Hungry Jack’s NBL for the first time in 23 years, with a new partnership to become a Major Partner of the league.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia has returned to the Hungry Jack’s NBL for the first time in 23 years, with a new partnership to become a Major Partner of the league.

The award-winning car manufacturer will be visible across the basketball landscape all year round, after aligning with the Coles Express NBL1 earlier this year.

“The magnitude of this partnership can’t be understated,” NBL CEO David Stevenson said.

“Mitsubishi is a global powerhouse in the automotive industry and its commitment to the NBL is a credit to the growing strength of our competition locally, and around the globe.

“Off the back of record attendances, TV viewership, and digital engagement, the NBL has never been in a better position, on and off the court.

“High-level commercial partnerships like this one with Mitsubishi will only help advance the NBL’s growth, both domestically and internationally.”

The deal is a significant one for the League, as it signals one of the most wellknown and respected brands in the world showing a strong investment in the NBL.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia is part of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, based in Tokyo, Japan, and was a major partner of basketball and the NBL for nine years beginning in the early 1990s.

“After 23 years, it is exciting for Mitsubishi Motors Australia to be returning to basketball as the Major Partner for the NBL,” Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO Shaun Westcott said.

“As the sport continues to grow and the League goes from strength to strength, we are delighted to be on the upwards trajectory with the NBL, together innovating and looking for opportunities to grow.

“We look forward to working alongside the NBL to make a positive difference across the basketball community from the grassroots to elite player level.”

The 2023/24 Hungry Jack’s NBL Season begins on Thursday September 28 when Melbourne United host the South East Melbourne Phoenix at John Cain Arena.
