Wildcats youngsters to miss

The Perth Wildcats will be without youngsters Luke Travers, Kyle Zunic and Mitch Clarke for tonight’s game against the Adelaide 36ers due to COVID protocols.

“It’s been too long without a game. I think everyone wants to play. We haven’t had a full roster all season and we’ve done okay,” coach Scott Morrison said via the West Australian.

Ashley set for Phoenix debut

South East Melbourne import Brandon Ashley is ready for his club debut on Sunday in Tasmania, explaining what Phoenix fans can expect from him when he steps onto the court.

“I like to think of myself as a very versatile player...I will be able to play multiple positions...I'm just a competitive guy that just wants to come out and do whatever is needed in order to help my team win,” Ashley said.

Jessup stepping up on D

Illawarra Hawks coach Brian Goorjian has praised the increased defensive effort from NBL Next Star Justinian Jessup this season.

“He is moving forward from last year, especially at the defensive end of the floor,” Goorjian said via the Illawarra Mercury.

United never panicked

Rolling on a six-game winning streak, it can be easy to forget Melbourne United started the season 0-2. Assistant coach Justin Schueller says the group didn’t overreact to the slow start and always knew what they were capable of.

“When we were 0-2, we knew exactly what we had as a group and we weren’t ever concerned about where we were going with this team,” Schueller told the Herald Sun.
