Sobey sticking to minutes restriction
Brisbane Bullets star Nathan Sobey will stick with his minutes restriction, after playing just 13 minutes in last night’s loss in Cairns.
“He's on a strict minutes plan. We also play the JackJumpers on Saturday. If we want that minute plan to go up a little bit, we had to stick to that, regardless of the situation right now. If he goes over that and he gets injured, then that's on me,” Brisbane coach James Duncan said.
Hawks sick of losing
Illawarra Hawks guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes says the team is sick of losing ahead of tonight’s vital clash with the Adelaide 36ers.
“We don't want to lose anymore. We feel like we've taken enough losses and we've learnt enough from what we've gone through,” Rathan-Mayes said via the Illawarra Mercury.
Defence first for Taipans
After snapping their four-game losing streak, Cairns Taipans coach Adam Forde says his side wants to hang their hat on the defensive end.
“If we can hold it down defensively, which for the most part we've done a considerable job of for the whole season, the offence will slowly but surely come,” Forde said.
Baynes not Tassie bound
Australian Boomers star Aron Baynes won’t be joining the Tasmania JackJumpers according to assistant coach Jacob Chance.
“We have not sounded him out in any form or capacity to play or do anything. He's gone into a bit of a cave and dealt with what he's got going on and everyone's just hoping he's alright,” Chance said via The Advocate.

Sydney Kings’ Tom Vodanovich scored 21 points in 21 minutes while Breakers big man Rob Loe had 15 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
