Kings coach slams embarrassing ending
Sydney Kings coach Chase Buford has slammed his side’s fourth quarter after their loss to the bottom placed New Zealand Breakers yesterday.
Sydney were outscored 30-18 in the last period, including conceding an 18-1 run to New Zealand over the last five and a half minutes.
“We should be embarrassed by the way we finished the game. It's as simple as that. It's got to hurt because that's not good enough,” Buford said via 1News.
Delly speaks on career high
After scoring a career-high 33 points against the Illawarra Hawks yesterday, Melbourne United star Matthew Dellavedova admitted it had been some time since he was that hot offensively.
“I might not have had that feeling since college or in a few NBA games so it's been a while,” Dellavedova said.
Shamir applauds effort
Breakers coach Dan Shamir has applauded the effort of his team after their epic comeback win over the Kings yesterday.
“The big thing is that we dug in…there was a great example to what happens when you don't give in, and don't give up, and you just dig in a little more and you stay together, and you stick to what you should do and all of a sudden a big win like that comes,” Shamir said via 1News.
Goorjian stays upbeat
Despite losing to United, Hawks coach Brian Goorjian is remaining upbeat about his side’s performance against the hottest team in the league.
“We lick our wounds and learn, but I don’t think this is anything to hang our heads about. I'm still trying to figure some things out and I know my group is going to get better. I don’t think you are going to play against any better than them,” Goorjian said.
Delly lauds Agada
Melbourne United star Matthew Dellavedova has lauded teammate Caleb Agada, who has stepped up massively during the club’s six-game winning streak.
“Caleb has been huge for us, and I think he is only going to get better,” Dellavedova said via Newscorp.
Landale praises Hawks
San Antonio Spurs forward Jock Landale has praised Hawks pair Sam Froling and Duop Reath, saying the duo have the potential to make the NBL to NBA leap like he has.
“The NBL is such a great pathway for all those guys,” Landale said via Newscorp.
