After growing up in a family of basketball players and older siblings, Adelaide 36ers star Craig Randall II has declared “I don’t lose now” thanks to his upbringing.

After growing up in a family of basketball players and older siblings, Adelaide 36ers star Craig Randall II has declared "I don’t lose now", crediting his upbringing for his winning mentality.

“I didn’t win a lot growing up ... I don’t lose now,” Randall II said on One-On-One.

“They never took it easy on me ... I’ve never had it easy growing up. They just bullied me.

“That’s kind of how I got so tough and just got really passionate about basketball, because I couldn’t win.

“So when I got a chance to play against people my age, that’s how I took out my aggression from not winning.”

This is Randall II’s first season with the 36ers and he has made a quick impression. First in the league in scoring, he's averaged 23.3 points per game, alongside four assists and four rebounds.

“I’ve played (basketball) my whole life, never played any other sport,” he said.

“So for me, it’s my way of life.”

Randall II’s two brothers had an influence on his playing style, helping him to become one of the most dynamic and entertaining players in the league.

“I wanted to be like both, but always tried to put my own flair to it just to stand out and be me,” he said.

“I’m just at a space where I kind of play with that same passion, that same chip on my shoulder at times.”

The 36ers battle the New Zealand Breakers on Friday night at 7:30pm AEDT.
