Could an Australian Boomers star return to the NBL?
Australian Boomers powerhouse Duop Reath could return to the NBL next season, according to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc.
While Uluc reported the likelihood of a Reath comeback “seems slim”, there remains a chance the 27-year-old signs in the NBL.
“There’s a whisper going around that an NBL deal isn’t out of the cards for Duop Reath. It seems slim, but it’s not off the table,” Uluc told NBL Media.
Reath played for the Illawarra Hawks in the 2021/22 season, where he averaged 15.6 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. He has represented the Qingdao Eagles and Al Riyadi Club Beirut.
He was also a member of the Boomers’ historic bronze medal winning team at the Tokyo Olympics.
Reath is currently representing the Portland Trail Blazers at the NBA Summer League, recording 11.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
