Aron Baynes will miss five matches after incidents during the Brisbane v Cairns game last week.

Brisbane Bullets player Aron Baynes has received a five-game suspension after a Single Member Tribunal (SMT) hearing into incidents during the Brisbane v Cairns Taipans game on Saturday, October 7.

The SMT upheld charges of Excessive Disputing, Unsportsmanlike Conduct and an Abnormal or Unacceptable Act in Basketball.

The NBL supports the independence of both the Game Review Panel and Single Member Tribunal (SMT) and respects the decision of the SMT.

“I unreservedly accept that my conduct was unacceptable, and I have fallen short of the standard expected of a representative of the Brisbane Bullets and the NBL,” Baynes said in a statement post on Brisbane's website.

“I wish to sincerely apologise for my actions.”
