Adelaide to Start Search for Answers

Adelaide CEO Nic Barbato says the 36ers will conduct a full club review in the off-season, as they look to improve on a disappointing campaign.

Barbato says coach C.J Bruton will be part of the review process, after a season that has seen Adelaide go from beating an NBA team in the pre-season, to struggling to make the NBL finals' series months later.

While the 36ers are still mathematically in the mix to play finals, it would take a minor miracle to qualify, in a season that promised so much.

Adelaide caught headlines in the off-season by signing a raft of high profile names, including Antonius Cleveland and Robert Franks, but has ultimately underperformed.

“We can start thinking about what that will look like now and we’ll sit down and work through that with everyone at the end of the season — the coaching staff, players, structure — and see what we come out with,” Barbato said via Newscorp.

“CJ’s a great part of our club and we’re with him … we want him to be part of that whole process.”

Despite their on-court struggles, the 36ers have been flying off the court, with the club recording five straight sell outs and six across the season.

Adelaide hosts the Sydney Kings tonight at 7:30pm AEDT, with a win keeping them in with an outside chance of playing finals.
