“As a team, we’re always pushing to compete on the biggest stages, and there’s no bigger basketball stage than the NBA."

A third game has been added to the 2024 NBLxNBA calendar, with the New Zealand Breakers and Philadelphia 76ers to clash on Tuesday, October 8.

The Breakers are now slated to battle the Utah Jazz on October 5, 76ers on October 8 and Oklahoma City Thunder on October 11 as part of the NBA pre-season.

New Zealand plays one more NBL regular season games before hitting the road, hosting the South East Melbourne Phoenix at home this Sunday. The Breakers won their season opener 91-87 against the Brisbane Bullets at HoopsFest this past weekend, in a game they once led by 26-points.

Breakers owner Matt Walsh shared his excitement about the expanded tour, particularly the significance of playing against the 76ers.

“Adding a third game to our schedule is incredible, and to do it against the Sixers in my hometown of Philadelphia makes it even more special,” Walsh said.

“As a team, we’re always pushing to compete on the biggest stages, and there’s no bigger basketball stage than the NBA.

“The opportunity to play three games against such talented opposition is huge for our development as a team and for the profile of the BNZ Breakers and NBL.”

These games will be New Zealand’s sixth, seventh and eighth NBLxNBA games.
