Sixers to represent South Australia in China

The Wilson Adelaide 36ers will represent South Australia in China as part of the State Government’s 30-year sister-state relationship celebration with Shandong. The 36ers will play four games against the Hi Speed Shandong Basketball Club and sign a formal agreement to become sister clubs. The games will be held in Yantai, Bizhoou, Dezhou and Jinan. The final game in Jinan will celebrate the 30-year relationship with Shandong, with South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill and delegates from SA businesses in attendance on Tuesday 5 April. This celebration will also include a training and coaching clinic after the game, with head coach Joey Wright and WNBL Adelaide Lightning coach Tracy York. They will extend their stay by five days to run further coaching clinics. “The club is delighted to be part of the State’s 30-year celebration in China,” 36ers CEO Guy Hedderwick said. “It’s a great opportunity for us to build a relationship with Hi Speed Shandong, with the view to have some return games in Adelaide in the future.” The team will depart Adelaide on Monday 28 March.
