Wilson extends partnership with NBL

The NBL and Amer Sports Australia (Wilson) announced today that they have extended their partnership, to which Wilson will continue to provide the Official Game Ball for all NBL games through to 2018, as well as introducing a new retail range of NBL licensed basketballs. NBL General Manager Jeremy Loeliger was very pleased with the public and players’ response to the new NBL Official Game Day Ball launched prior to the 2015/16 season, and welcomed the introduction of a new retail range to hit shelves before the 2016/17 tips off in October. Rebel Sports will be stocking the NBL Official Game Ball in selected stores from October, while Amart Sports will sell the NBL Replica Game Ball in all of its stores. A wider range of NBL Team and Replica Balls can be purchased from retailers immediately, including Big W, Sportsmart, Sportspower and Intersport, giving fans access to a wide range of balls at varying price points. “Today’s announcement is a key milestone in our journey to make the NBL more accessible to our fans. Having the NBL Wilson range in more stores across the country is yet another way for us to engage with our fans of all ages,” said Mr Loeliger. “Teaming up with Wilson continues to provide us with the opportunity to build a partnership with an iconic worldwide brand that shares our vision for the future of the NBL.” The Official Game Ball of the NBL is a Wilson designed Solution Game Ball, which sets the standards for innovation and performance on the court. Patented features include the only moisture absorbing cover in the market and laid in channels, creating a 100 per cent composite cover, giving the player better grip and control of the ball. The Wilson Solution Game Ball is also the Official Game Ball of the NCAA Championship and NCAA March Madness. Wilson Commercial Manager, Ryan Chesney said, “We are delighted to share this announcement with the amazing fans and supporters of basketball in Australasia. We have been impressed with the NBL, both on and off the court, during our first season in partnership together and look forward to bigger and better things in the seasons ahead.”
