Snake climbs ladder: Cairns young gun earns NBA invite

"We’re excited to see him showcase his talent and continue to grow at the next level."
The NBA is taking notice of Alex Higgins-Titsha, with the Golden State Warriors set to host the Cairns Taipans forward at their June 9 mini-camp.
In what was a challenging NBL25 campaign for the Taipans, the 24-year-old emerged as a bright spot, earning a starting role after just three games as a development player.
Just four rounds later, he recorded his first double-double - finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds against the Bullets.
Higgins-Titsha’s rise continued, as he played a key role in Australia’s 3x3 Asia Cup triumph, just two weeks after helping secure bronze at the Champions Cup.
“This invitation to the GSW mini-camp is a testament to Alex’s relentless dedication and hard work, day in and day out,” Andre Williams of LobX, Higgins-Titsha’s management said.
“He’s put in the effort, stayed focused and earned this opportunity through sheer commitment.
“We’re excited to see him showcase his talent and continue to grow at the next level.
”Higgins-Titsha will return to the Cairns Marlins after the camp, as he prepares for the 3x3 World Cup for the Gangurrus.
One of five confirmed signings for the Taipans ahead of NBL26, Higgins-Titsha is rapidly emerging as a serious contender in the league’s Most Improved Player race.
