Rival praise builds for Jaylin Galloway as a strong Championship Series fuels calls for another NBA opportunity.

While the championship-winning Sydney Kings earned widespread praise for their depth, one key role player has emerged as a name to watch, with rival voices calling for him to get another shot at the NBA.

Despite already spending time at the highest level as a two-way player with the Milwaukee Bucks, Casey Prather believes Jaylin Galloway is ready to take that step again.

“He’s a guy who has been playing well, but I think he has another gear to go to,” Prather said on NBL Roundtable.

“I watch him play for the Boomers and then every time I watch him, he is just phenomenal.”

The 23-year-old averaged just under 10 points per game during the season, but elevated his output when it mattered most. Across the Championship Series, he produced more than 15 points per game while shooting 56 per cent from beyond the arc.

“I’m always thinking in my head like, man, this dude should be in the NBA … I think he has so much more to his game that he hasn’t been able to showcase just yet,” Prather added.

“I’m not sure if it’s just because of the role that he’s on or the self-confidence, but I’m a huge fan of his game and I think he’s one of those guys who can take that next step to the NBA.”

Galloway spent 2024 with the Wisconsin Herd, the G League affiliate of the Bucks, and has now secured his third NBL championship. Prior to that opportunity, he was producing career-best numbers for the Kings at just over 10 points per game, and his recent form suggests he may be ready to go further.

“That dude needs minutes, he’s been in a deep rotation with that Sydney kings thing and I feel like he needs to be a starter somewhere in the league,” Damon Lowery added.
