Hungry Jack's NBL
Sharp shooter Oscar Forman signs with Hawks
Illawarra Hawks head coach Rob Beveridge continues to build his roster, adding 2014/15 captain Oscar Forman to the line-up. The 33-year old has signed a one-year deal and joins new recruit AJ Ogilvy in the Hawks front court, with the pair set to become one of the League’s most lethal inside-outside combinations. Forman says he's hungrier than ever for success, and looks forward to leading the new-look Hawks in their quest to climb up the NBL ladder. “I'm excited to get stuck into pre-season training and start preparing for what will be an exciting season for the club and its fans," said Forman. “From talking with Bevo about roster plans and looking ahead, I'm positive we can field a team that will reward the Illawarra community that have stuck with us through the years." The NBL veteran has led the League in three-point accuracy shooting for three straight seasons, and coach Beveridge knows first-hand the devastating effect Forman’s sharp shooting can have on opposition teams. “Oscar is arguably one the best three-point shooters that the NBL has seen," said Beveridge. "I vividly remember the headaches that he caused as an opposition coach with his ability to knock down the three. “With the style of game that we are going to play, he is a going to be vital part of our team and I am excited to been given an opportunity to coach Oscar this season.” Along with Rhys Martin, Forman becomes the second returning player from last season's squad, with AJ Ogilivy to bring their 2015/16 roster to three.
