"His skill set, athleticism, and versatility will be a huge asset to our team."

The New Zealand Breakers are one step closer to finalising their roster, signing Izaiah Brockington on a one-year deal.

The 6’4” shooting guard most recently suited up for the Vancouver Bandits in Canada, where he played alongside Mitch Creek and averaged 10 points and three rebounds per game.

The Breakers had made it clear they were looking for a dynamic, complementary addition to their backcourt to support Parker Jackson-Cartwright. Brockington fits that profile, having averaged more than 15 points per game last season with the San Diego Clippers in the NBA G-League.

“We are incredibly excited to have Izaiah join the BNZ Breakers," Dillon Boucher, President of Basketball Operations said.

“His skill set, athleticism, and versatility will be a huge asset to our team.

“We believe he will make a significant dynamic impact on both ends of the floor, providing a crucial piece for the team."

"Izaiah has impressed us with his maturity and integrity, and he will fit in well with our impressive 'Kiwi core' crew, alongside Parker Jackson-Cartwright and Karim López.” Marc Mitchell, Chair of the BNZ Breakers said.

With Brockington on board, the Breakers now turn their attention to filling the final starting forward spot ahead of NBL26.

Elsewhere, the Illawarra Hawks have reportedly signed Jackson Ball as a development player for the upcoming season.
