South East Melbourne Phoenix development player Anzac Rissetto has extended his stay at the club

South East Melbourne Phoenix development player Anzac Rissetto has extended his stay at the club, returning in NBL24 as a Development Player with a Club Option the following season that would see him become a rostered player.

The 22-year-old centre initially signed with the Phoenix on a one-year deal ahead of the NBL23 season and appeared in five games across the campaign.

He also made his debut for the Tall Blacks in 2022 as a part of New Zealand’s FIBA World Cup qualifier squad against Lebanon and Jordan.

Rissetto has already claimed cult hero status amongst South East Melbourne fans for his lively and emotional celebrations on the bench, and he says he’s excited to continue his growth at the club moving forward.

"The Phoenix welcomed me with open arms as soon as I arrived last season, and it was nothing but love since then. From the front office staff to the coaches, to all my teammates, and the fans, I was welcomed and felt like I was at home," said Rissetto.

"Re-signing with the Phoenix for another two years was a no-brainer for me, to help me continue to grow and become the best version of myself both on and off the court. I can't wait to see what the next two years has in store for us."

Rissetto joins fellow big Alan Williams and former development player Owen Foxwell in signing new deals with the club.
