NBA Cares & NBL Multicultural Clinic

On Friday 24 June the RecWest facility in Braybrook hosted a very special Basketball Without Borders event with NBL Multicultural Ambassador Patty Mills & NBA Cares. In addition to working with the elite youth basketball campers on the court, NBA, FIBA and NBL players and coaches were involved in extensive community outreach events through the NBA's NBA Cares' Program. For BWB Asia in Melbourne NBA worked closely with the NBL and Basketball Victoria to identify worthy recipients needing assistance to help with youth basketball development and teach the values of the game, including teamwork, integrity and respect, on and off the court. RecWest in Braybrook was that recipient receiving new hoops, backboards, scoreboards, shot clocks and more from the program. Since October 2005 when NBA Cares was launched, the league and teams have raised more than $270 million for charity, provided more than 3.5 million hours of hands-on service, and built more than 995 places where kids and families can live, learn or play in communities around the world.
