Moore leaves Europe for Melbourne
Melbourne United has one position remaining on its roster with the signing of US guard Ramone Moore for the 2016-17 NBL Season. From Philadelphia, where he played for Temple University in the NCAA, Moore has spent the past four seasons playing in European Leagues in Lithuania, Ukraine, Hungary, Italy and Israel. In his most recent season with Pieno Zvaigzdes in Lithuania he averaged 13.7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists per game. Melbourne United CEO Vince Crivelli said it was pleasing to have the roster almost complete and have recruited such a strong list. “We are really happy with the mix of players we have brought in to the team.” “Dean had knowledge of Ramone and his background and has a great understanding of the style of players that come out of Philli. We believe Ramone will be a great asset to the roster with his experience and adaptability.” Head Coach Dean Demopoulos said Moore would be a great fit for the side. “He will give us versatility on both ends of the floor. He’s a multi-purpose guard and I believe that he will do whatever we ask of him. Fit is really important for the group you put on the floor.” Moore will join Boomers Chris Goulding and David Andersen along with new recruits Tai Wesley and Cedric Jackson and the rest of the team in Melbourne in the next few weeks. Melbourne United has one import roster position to fill.
