Melbourne United welcome new players to squad

Following the signing of former NBA player Hakim Warrick on Tuesday, CTI Melbourne United welcomed some new faces to its official squad ahead of their first NBL pre-season Blitz game tonight. Veteran NBL swingman Brad Hill will join the squad as a cover player due to the injuries of David Barlow and Owen Odigie. Hill, 28, has carved out an 11 year NBL career with Adelaide, Sydney, South Dragons, Cairns, and last season Wollongong (now Illawarra). Hill is expected to impact with scoring and rebounding toughness off the bench at the Blitz, as evidenced by his 14 points and 11 rebounds in just 23 minutes against Cairns last season. Two home-grown Victorian basketball talents have also been added to the squad as development players; Kyle Adnam and Emmanuel Golong. Adnam, 22, played matches for Wollongong last season and has also had a stint as development player at Adelaide. After another prolific season in the SEABL with his home club of Kilsyth the point guard has joined Melbourne for 2015-16. Golong, also 22, is a Sudanese-born guard who played his junior basketball in Melbourne and has also had experience of United States junior college basketball at Iowa Lakes. Coaching staff have been impressed with his speed and footwork, and he has played minutes in most pre-season matches over the last two months. Development players are reserve players for the main roster who can be promoted as cover during the season. All games at the 2015 NBL Blitz can be seen live online: www.stream.nbl.com.au
