Melbourne United coach Dean Vickerman has provided injury updates on stars Shea Ili and Chris Goulding.

Melbourne United star Shea Ili appears set for a stint on the sidelines, after sustaining an injury during the club's historic NBAxNBL Series fixture against the New Orleans Pelicans.

During Melbourne's media availability ahead of Wednesday's Round 4 clash with Sydney, coach Dean Vickerman said his 3-0 side would be without the services of the back-to-back Best Defensive Player for the foreseeable future.

"Everyone saw Shea take a little injury in the NBA game, so he's going to be out for a few now but we'll keep assessing him as to when he'll be back," Vickerman said.

Three-time NBL champion Vickerman had more positive news on Chris Goulding, who missed the opening three rounds with a quad injury.

"Chris [Goulding] got through a full practice today and he's pretty close to making a return to the floor," he said.

ESPN's Olgun Uluc posted on X yesterday about the injury fallout for United as they head into Round 4.

"Worth noting the Melbourne United injury fallout from their game vs the Pels. Shea Ili suffered a hamstring injury; I’m told he underwent scans and, while it's not expected to be too serious, don't be surprised if he misses some #NBL26 action. Tyson Walker appeared to hurt his thumb during Friday's game; the early word is that he's escaped serious injury."
