The Tasmania JackJumpers have announced the signing of Jarred Bairstow to a three-year contract.

The Tasmania JackJumpers have announced the signing of Jarred Bairstow to a three-year contract.

Bairstow joins the JackJumpers after spending last season with the Perth Wildcats. The 28-year-old played an important role for the Wildcats during their charge to the NBL Grand Final. Bairstow played for the Brisbane Bullets from 2016-2017.

Bairstow joins Jack McVeigh, Sam McDaniel, Clint Steindl and Sejr Deans (development player) on the JackJumpers’ roster for the 2021/22 Hungry Jack’s NBL season.

JackJumpers Head Coach Scott Roth said: “Jarred is a great signing for us as we continue to build the inaugural JackJumpers’ roster.

“Having worked closely with Jarred in Perth, I know he beings the work ethic, character and defensive intensity we are looking for.

“Jarred is also a first class teammate and will help establish a strong culture at the JackJumpers. We look forward to more exciting player announcements in the coming days.”

Bairstow said: “I can’t wait to arrive in Tasmania and begin this exciting new journey with the JackJumpers.

“When Scott rang me and told me about the vision for the club, it was something I knew I wanted to be a part of. It isn’t often you have the chance to lay the foundations of a new team and it’s an honour to be able to do so.

“The JackJumpers will be a team that will make all Tasmanians proud and I’m thrilled to be a member of the inaugural roster.”
