Illawarra re-sign Kevin White for two years

Guard Kevin White has re-signed with the Illawarra Hawks for a further two years, after a breakout season with the club in 2015/16. White flourished under Head Coach Rob Beveridge’s guidance and soon became a regular starter for the Hawks, starting in 27 of 31 games and averaging just under 16 minutes playing time a game. Leading the League in assists to turnover ratio last season, White also achieved career-high averages in points and assists while shooting over 40 per cent from the field. Head Coach Rob Beveridge said White’s first season at the Hawks had earned him a new contract and was delighted to sign the former Kings Defensive Player of the Year. “Kevin epitomises everything that a coach looks for in a role player. "He is an extremely hard worker and a tremendous person who continually sacrifices himself for the good of the team. " Currently playing for Bendigo in the SEABL, White said the opportunity to continue to play under Beveridge was a big reason for his return. “I’m very excited to be returning to the club and looking forward in continuing to build on such a positive 1 season. "Having Bevo commit for four-years was a massive reason for my return, but so was how welcome the community and club have made me feel in the last year.” White joins Rhys Martin and AJ Ogilvy as players to re-sign with the Hawks for next season, and with the club set to make more announcements in the coming weeks.
