Angus Glover says he is excited about his future with South East Melbourne as talks progress on a new deal ahead of Game 3 against Adelaide.

As successful as the South East Melbourne Phoenix have been during the Hungry Jack’s NBL26 season to date, they are also planning for the future.

According to reports by ESPN Olgun Uluc, wing Angus Glover, who was recently named the competition’s Sixth Man of the Year, has signed a two-year extension with the Heartland club.

“I feel like JK (Josh King) and the club see me as a big part of the future, and I love what we’re building and want to be a part of it, long-term,” Glover told CODE Sports.

“When you’re really happy off the court, you tend to enjoy yourself on the court and play pretty well.”

While the two-time champion, who had 10 points in Saturday’s comeback win over Adelaide, is thrilled to have his future secured, he is more focused on his side’s Game 3 Playoff against Adelaide on Tuesday night.

“It’s nice to know that my new contract is taken care of, absolutely, but I’m more worried about winning Finals games for the club, and that’s my sole focus,” Glover said.

“I feel really comfortable here, with everyone and everything, from the front office to the coaching staff, players and the fans ... it’s an awesome place to be.”

The re-signing of two-time champion Glover sees him join Nathan Sobey, Jordi Hunter, Owen Foxwell, DJ Mitchell, and Ellis Bigger (club option) on Josh King’s roster for next season.

The Phoenix play the 36ers from 7.30pm AEDT on Tuesday, live on ESPN.
