Rhys Carter - Sydney Kings
How long have you lived in the city?
Only 4 months this time, but I also lived here 2005-2008, so I feel familiar.
Where is your favourite spot to:
Have a late breakfast:
You can't beat Circular Quay with the view of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House as a back drop.
Go for lunch?
There’s a great Thai restaurant in Olympic Park that the boys all love to get to after training as its so close to the stadium!
Take someone for dinner?
It has to be Hurricane's Grill
in Bondi or Darling Harbour. They have the best BBQ pork ribs in the world, and I stand by that statement.
Go for a drink?
The Coogee Bay Hotel
is an old favourite of mine. A nice beer garden right by the beach and a nice atmosphere.
I'm not a big shopping person, but the Mrs. will drag me to the Westfield at Bondi Junction
now and then. It's got everything.
Any hidden gems?
I'm pretty bad at finding them, so I'm not a very good local in that sense. I stay mainstream.
Where is the best coffee?
I remain on a constant search for it! I was very impressed with The Grounds of Alexandria
when I went there last week.
What is the one thing people should do when visiting?
Take a boat ride through Darling Harbour, see the Harbour Bridge and Opera House from the water.
