Daniel Kickert - Melbourne United
How long have you lived in the city?
I have lived in Melbourne my whole life, but the past two years have been especially fun since returning from Europe.
Where is your favourite spot to...
Have a late breakfast:
Late breakfast is definitely The General Food Store in Emerald. It's a great hidden treasure in the hills!!
Go for lunch?
That's a very tough question, but I'm going with Journeyman on Chapel Street. Can't go past the cornflake crispy chicken sandwich
Take someone for dinner?
Bangkok Terrace in Hawthorn East is hard to beat. It has great food and a great atmosphere for a group dinner.
Go for a drink?
The Mountain View Hotel on Bridge Road in Richmond is a great place to grab a drink and enjoy the city views from the rooftop bar.
Go for some fun?
During summer I love to head down to the beach. St Kilda beach is hard to pass up as it is lined with restaurants and bars. Ackland Street and Luna Park are also nearby.
Any hidden gems?
Kalista Tea Rooms in The Dandenong Ranges. It has one of the best Devonshire teas going around, plus you can feed the cockatoos your leftovers.
Where is the best coffee?
Brother Baba Budan
What is the one thing people should do when visiting?
Other than coming to a Melbourne United home game, visitors should head down to the Portsea Hotel for a chicken parma and a pint out on the grass overlooking the bay!
