Hawks are without American imports Rotnei Clarke, Michael Holyfield and Marvelle Harris along with last year’s starting guard Kevin White started with Rhys Martin, Mitch Norton, Tony Tolovae, Oscar Forman and AJ Ogilvy with Tim Coenraad, Cody Ellis and Nick Kay off the bench. Rounding out the 11-man roster is Sutherland Sharks import Brandon Crompton and Illawarra juniors Angus Glover and Patrick Lancaster who both have taken a week off high school for the Darwin trip. Hawks led for all but a few seconds of the game when Adelaide took a brief 1-point lead in the 4th quarter before Hawks took control again. Oscar Forman top scored with 15 points, and finished with 10 rebounds and 2 blocks. Tony Tolovae and AJ Ogilvy had 13 each. Rhys Martin had 11 points and 4 assists. Nick Kay had 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in his Hawks debut. Cody Ellis had 9 points, 4 rebounds and Tim Coenraad had 5 & 5. Mitch Norton sat out much of the game after a slight ankle tweak in the first quarter, which provided Angus Glover 21 minutes of court time for 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and Patty Lancaster 16 mins (3 assists). Sutherland Sharks Brandon Crompton chipped in 5 points as a late call up for the trip North. Game two of the three game series will be played tonight.
