Hawks add Kevin White
Rob Beveridge and the Illawarra Hawks have completed the makeup of their back court for the upcoming NBL season adding guard and former Sydney Kings player Kevin White to their 2015/16 roster. White joins Rhys Martin, Kevin Lisch and Tyson Demos to form the makeup of Beveridge’s back court with Demos and White in particular set to cause defensive headaches for oppositions guards. The signing of Kevin White who won the Kings' Best Defensive Player along with Demos, a three-time winner of the Hawks same award sends a clear message that Rob Beveridge wants to make life difficult for opposition guards this season. Beveridge says the addition of White to the Hawks back court adds the experience and toughness required on his roster to push for a playoff position. “Having coached Kev as a junior, he showed great leadership and always was a competitor which are the traits that we are looking for in players at the Hawks," said Beveridge. "On top of this, Kevin is also an incredible community-orientated person and will be a great fit for this community." White who has spent the last four seasons playing at the Sydney Kings adds valuable depth to the Hawks roster and he says he couldn’t be happier to be representing the sole remaining foundation team in the league. “I'm really excited about the opportunity to be a part of a club with such a strong and rich history. Being a Sydney boy I know how important this club is to both the NBL but more importantly the entire Illawarra community, I'm really excited to wear the clubs colours”. The addition of White brings the Hawks roster to eight leaving the 3 and 4 spots for the club to fill. Beveridge still has the all important second import option up his sleeve as he looks to add the final pieces to an already impressive off season recruiting process.
