FULL EPISODE: This week on the #HardBall Podcast, Tommy Greer and Liam Santamaria recap all the major story-lines from Round 9 of the NBL, discuss the teams who most impressed over the past week and debate the question ‘who is the hottest team in the competition?’ They also discuss the NBL debut of Sydney Kings head coach Joe Connelly, chat with Townsville Crocs head coach Shawn Dennis and outline the Round 9 Studs & Duds. HARDBALL BREAKDOWN: The boys discuss the teams who most impressed over the past week, including New Zealand, Illawarra and Townsville and debate the question ‘who is the hottest team in the competition?’ as they review Round 9. They also discuss the coaching debut of Joe Connelly and what lies ahead for the struggling Sydney Kings. Townsville Crocodiles head coach Shawn Dennis has had to deal with his fair share of adversity this season and yet his youthful team has battled hard every step of the way. The Crocs have pulled off several remarkable upsets already this season including two wins over Perth, one over Melbourne and one of Cairns. Dennis joins the podcast to discuss Townsville’s recent release of Brian Conklin, the resilient play of his team, the improving Jordair Jett and how he feels about his club-issued game-day shirt. With Round 10 of #HardBall tipping off this Wednesday, the boys preview the massive slate of games ahead. Cairns and Illawarra battle twice this week, in Wollongong on Wednesday and in Cairns on Friday night. Their season series is very much on the line and could prove vital in the run towards the playoffs. Adelaide and Townsville also clash twice in Round 10; can the Crocs continue their giant-killing ways? Melbourne head to Perth for a top of the table clash on Thursday night while the Sydney Kings take on the New Zealand Breakers across the ditch. Can the Kings become the first Australian team to win in New Zealand this season? To complete the round, Perth and Sydney do battle for the first time this season; can big Julian Khazzouh handle the might and power of Wildcats centre Nathan Jawai?
