GM's Message - Prepare for an exciting finish

The run to the NBL finals has truly stepped up a gear since the beginning of the new year. The Adelaide 36ers in particular, with three wins on the bounce, are making it known that the race for a finals birth is far from finished.   Inside the top four things are also very interesting. Before the start of Chemist Warehouse Heritage Round (R15), any one of the current top four teams could have finished the weekend sitting atop the NBL ladder. While Melbourne have managed to maintain their position as ladder leaders with a win over the Cairns Taipans on Wednesday night, the final order – and indeed the makeup – of the top four is still very much open.   The first season of the new NBL has been jam packed with excitement and the Finals are shaping up to be even more enthralling. Personally, I am very excited to see how the ladder sorts itself out and even more excited about seeing some exciting finals match ups.   The NBL MVP Awards night is also on the horizon, to be held at Atlantic Docklands on Wednesday 17 February.   This year’s MVP award will be one of the most keenly contested in years with at least one player from most teams throwing their hat in the ring as a legitimate contender.   This year’s 6th man of the year is also one sparking great interest with Jesse Wagstaff, Hakim Warrick and Torrey Craig among many others playing amazing roles for their clubs.   The MVP Awards night will be a great opportunity to reflect on the season and some of the most outstanding performers who’ve thrilled us with their talent. Be sure to head to the NBL website for ticketing information.   Otherwise, stay tuned for what’s primed to be one of the most exciting finishes to an NBL season in years.
