South East Melbourne Phoenix development player Owen Foxwell has earned a place on the main roster for NBL24

South East Melbourne Phoenix development player Owen Foxwell has earned a place on the main roster for NBL24 – and has signed a two-year extension with the club.

Foxwell, 19, has spent the first two seasons of his professional career as a development player at the Phoenix and has played 21 NBL games to date.

He experienced a breakout campaign in NBL23 – where he took part in 16 games and finished among the top 20 players in the competition for steals with an average of 1.3 per game.

He also averaged over three points, one assist and one rebound per game.

“I’ve loved witnessing Owen’s development over the past two seasons, and I’m really excited about his potential in the NBL as he continues to grow his game,” Phoenix CEO Tommy Greer said.

“I played all my junior basketball in Bulleen from under 12s, and I wouldn’t have wanted to play anywhere else.”

In addition to his re-signing with the Phoenix, it was recently announced Foxwell has re-committed to the Eltham Wildcats for the upcoming NBL1 season.

The young guard has joined Alan Williams, Mitch Creek, Reuben Te Rangi and Junior Madut as confirmed members of the South East Melbourne Phoenix next season.
