Dennis re-signs with the Crocodiles

The Townsville Crocodiles have announced the re-signing of 2016 NBL Coach of the Year, Shawn Dennis. Negotiations regarding Dennis' contract began in January, and after three seasons in Townsville, the club is thrilled to have finalised a further two-year agreement. Crocodiles General Manager Robert Honan stated that the retention of Dennis was a key element of the club's future. "History shows that club consistency has led to winning success. "We are so proud of what Shawn has done with his time at the Crocodiles and we know that with him leading our squad, we will go from strength to strength." Dennis has led on-court performances throughout the season that continued to improve, including defeating the Sydney Kings in the highest-scoring game in recent NBL history to close their season. The young team registered 11 total wins, matching the club’s record from the 2014/15 season and earning him the NBL Coach of the Year Award. “I am proud with what the club has achieved over the past 12 months on and off the court, and I look forward to the development of the team during the 2016/17 season,” said Dennis.

During his tenure as head coach, Dennis' development of his roster has also been recognised, boasting the Most Improved Player two years in a row (Blanchfield 2015, Steindl 2016) and Nick Kay as Rookie of the Year.
