Four-time NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins believes Sydney Kings star Kendric Davis has what it takes to make the NBA.

DeMarcus Cousins has long kept a close eye on the NBL, and there’s one Sydney Kings star he can’t wait to see in action at HoopsFest in January.

Cousins has previously labelled Bryce Cotton “the GOAT” of the NBL, but it’s the six-time MVP's fiercest rival, Kendric Davis, who has caught his attention ahead of his trip to Perth.

The four-time NBA All-Star believes Davis has all the traits of an NBA player.

“I like the name he (Davis) has created for himself by going over to the NBL and taking the League by storm with his play and personality,” Cousins told CODE Sports.

“He has created a rivalry with Bryce Cotton and I think that is great for the sport.

“He is so young, so he can absolutely make the NBA.

“Who am I to say he doesn’t have a chance?

“He has a lot of talent and sometimes it is just about the opportunity.”

Cousins has been confirmed as the NBA Ambassador for HoopsFest Perth, presented by Virgin Australia, which returns to RAC Arena from January 13 to 17, 2027. The festival features five nights of double-headers, with every NBL and WNBL team in action during Round 17 of the Hungry Jack's NBL27 Season.

The former Olympic gold medallist will sit courtside at RAC Arena and connect with fans across the event, including at Sneakerland and the free Bounce Nation Fan Zone at Forrest Place. Tickets and travel packages are available at HoopsFest.com.au.
